This is what I was looking for.  (A bagless, upright vacuum that swivels.)  I have an old Shark "Rocket Professional" which I don't think they make anymore, I could not find one.  That was the best ever, it lasted for many, many years (and never lost suction) until my son manhandled it and accidentally broke the plastic wand.  This Shark "Navigator" NV150 is very similar to the Rocket.  Mainly the body of the Navigator is a little larger, but not a huge difference.  It is fantastic on carpet AND hardwood.  It is easy to switch from carpet to hardwood.  I highly recommend this.  Lightweight, easy to maneuver around furniture, easy to empty and clean, and to carry on stairs, and to switch between attachments, and easy to detach the long wand for high cleaning.  Yes, I would buy this again.  (Tip:  Check to see if it comes with a 5-year manufacturer's limited warranty (mine did) and if so, you do not need to buy an extended warranty if it covers the exact same things.)  (In the photo, the old Rocket is on the left, and the new Navigator is on the right.)

Great design, great vacuum

Let me start by saying I have owned (that cost no more than $200) many vacuum cleaner brands. My favorite and longest lasting has been the Shark Vacuum Cleaners. My house is mostly tile and hardwood flooring, carpets in the bedrooms, I have two children, my hair is long so I shed like a GS and a dog that hair is med/shortish and yet he still sheds. So I needed a vacuum that could do all my flooring and vacuum up the dog hair along with my own hair. I purchased this Shark vacuum CU50WM in 11/2021. I tested this vacuum out and compared it to my Rocket. Well let me say I love it! Maybe because it is new and doesn't have many years on it yet but compared to my Rocket it is quieter. It swivels just right, unlike some that swivel and almost throw your back out like whip lash. The handle is longer making it much more faster and easier to get the cob webs on my 10' ceilings, before I had to break out the ladder and hold the rocket with one hand while reaching for the webs. The brush spinning on the hardwood floors does not throw what you are vacuuming up back at your feet. Unlike my Rocket your power switch has 2 choices of hardwood/carpet, the rocket you just had to turn on the brush when you got to the carpet. This one's canister is larger than the rocket and it feels a little bit lighter than the rocket. The brush roller "self cleaning" is what caught my attention a while back and I wanted to wait to see other reviews on it before I purchased it.. Well the roller does not clog easily. It does have little tooth brush like bristles on it that I am sure will eventually tangle something with things like string, yarn, or something along those lines but you can access the roller and take it out unlike my Rocket. Draw back so far is it does not have headlights like my Rocket which is nifty when you are under something with low or no light. The "suction control" tab thingy on the handle moves easily but that is not a biggy for me. And it only comes with 1 attachment and the rocket came with 2. Also the power cord is almost at the bottom on the cleaner and I like how the Rockets is above the half way height. There is that little hook at the top though but when you are vacuuming and want to remove the hose to reach up, you have to take the cord off. I am sure I will over come this new change. My other vacuum is the Shark Rocket, NV48426 which I purchased in 12/2014. I loved it! But like my husband says I can find a problem with everything. I did not like how the brush would get full of hair and I would have to turn the brush on (and it would slings the stuff back onto my feet) and 97% of the time I had to stop and cut the hair off to get the brush free. Which leads me to the other Rocket issue. There was NO WAY you could remove the brush?! After my youngest was old enough to start chores he broke the clips that keep it standing upright. So when you pick it up off the floor the head would drop. But the CW50WM is so far worth it!

Just got it and so far so good. I just vacuumed this morning with my Bissel vacuum and went over my floors with the Shark and I'm pretty surprised at how much it picked up! It's like my old vacuum didnt clean anything up. Only cons I've come across is it's heavier then I'd hoped for and no automatic cord roll up. But over all very much recommended. second picture is what it picked up after I vacuumed with my old vacuum!!

I do like this vacuum. I bought it for half price so I thought I’d give it a chance. My issue with it is that the roller is not “self-cleaning”. See attached photo. I have had vacuum for less than a week.

Good value, roller not “hair wrap free”.
