REPORTER: THIS IS THE FIRST DAY OF THE CLINIC HERE AT HEINZ FIELD, THE APPOINTMENTS FILLED UP FAST, THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE WILL BE VACCINATED AT THE STADIUM. MANY OF THEM SAY THE SHOP WILL CHANGE THEIR LIVES. >> GREAT. ALMOST LIKE WINNING THE LOTTERY. >> I HAVE NEVER BEEN SO EXCITED. AND GIANT EAGLE HOPES MORE APPOINTMENTS ARE ON THE WAY. >> WE HAD A TREMENDOUS RESPONSE WHEN WE OPENED OUR APPOINTMENTS. WE HAD ONLINE APPOINTMENTS STILL UP IN A MATTER OF HOURS, PHONE APPOINTMENTS IN A MATTER OF MINUTES. THERE ARE NO APPOINTMENTS LEFT. IF MORE SUPPLY BECOMES AVAILABLE, WE ARE HOPEFUL WE CAN EXTEND THE CLINIC. Giant Eagle is holding a four-day COVID-19 vaccination clinic that began Tuesday morning at Heinz Field, the home of the Pittsburgh Steelers.Vaccine clinic underway at Heinz Field: Watch the report in the video player above.Vaccine administration is taking place in the PNC Champions Club at the stadium on Pittsburgh's North Shore for people who are eligible under Phase 1A of Pennsylvania's vaccine plan.Becky Serafin received the vaccine and said, "I've never been so excited to get a shot. My husband has cancer and I'm considered a senior citizen so I need the shot too."Susan Sanford also got the vaccine and said, "It was almost like winning the lottery."The clinic is by appointment only. Eligible patients can visit GiantEagle.com/covidclinic to search for availability and schedule appointments.On Monday, a Giant Eagle spokesman said all appointments had been filled.Giant Eagle said the clinic will be extended if more vaccine supply is made available.People arriving at the stadium for their vaccine appointments should plan to get there 15 minutes before the scheduled time. A mask or face covering is required. Patients must show a valid form of identification and should bring their medical insurance information. Parking will be available in Gold Lot 1.
