High points: at the end of one of the two main roads you'll find Keys View. stunning view into the valley. We arrived about an hour before sunset and it the light was perfect! Take the Barkers Dam trail and on your way back head over to the petroglyphs. Continue on, around the rock face, and you'll find another amazing view of a valley full of Joshua trees.
Park staff were very friendly and helpful. Be forewarned, all toilet facilities are outhouses. They have them all over the park, but the ones at the campgrounds get heavier use.
We were there for two days and got to see the highlights. We went in early March and the weather was cool (68 deg) and sunny. Park wasn't too crowded. But we went on a Monday and Tuesday. It's easy striking distance from LA so beware of weekend crowds.

Beautiful scenery and places to hike in February and cooler times, but it would be too hot to hike in the prime of summer.
There should be some cafes or at least a couple simple restaurants in the park and there were none. There were barely enough vault toilets to accomodate all the visitors within the park, and they were sadly not very clean or pleasant.

This is a true wonder with fantastic sunset views over Coachella valley, and with stunning granite roc formations. Try it ideally outside of long weekends as this is a bit bothering to see more cars than trees 😀.

I loved all of the thrift stores and the outdoor market was wonderful too. Fantastic places to eat like Crossroads Cafe and see live music like Pappy and Harriet's. Fun sights to see like the crochet museum and art galleries throughout the town. Beautiful national park, absolutely gorgeous place to take photographs, especially at dusk when the silhouettes of the joshua trees stand out against the setting sun. Stargazing is mesmerizing in the park at night, but also very satisfying from anywhere in town. Easy to navigate and walk around town.

Star-gazing was great but the nights in November are cold , so bundle up.
Gloves and a hat would have helped. Go early in the day so there was no wait at the entrance to check in and get a pass beforehand. The views are amazing. Some trails are not marked very well, so it's easy to get lost, even on a mile easy hike. We got lost at Baker Dam and of course didn't bring everything you need on a hike, it was only 1 mile hike but turned into a 3 plus mile hike. November is a great time to go.

We spent 2 days there, but you could easily spend 3 - 4 if you wanted to visit all of the areas of the park. October was a great time to go as mid to high 20s so walking in the day was fine, though pack a light fleece if you want to do any stargazing.
I like how the inn has a Joshua Tree Specific Vibe. The bed slept fairly comfortable. the swamp cooler kept it cool. It worked quite well. There is a hacienda area in the back with all kinds of weird stuff. I wanted to see that more. But they have a rule that says you can’t be out there because of bugs.
The motel and area do have a really good vibe. I felt safe there. In spite it not looking that way when I arrived. It looked like those “rent by hour” motels. But honestly there is a certain magic about the place.
It’s close by to the ‘West’ entrance to Joshua Tree National park - just a 10-15mins drive. The town is also just 10-15mins away; if you don’t fancy cooking, there are restaurants available.
We liked that the accommodation was a standalone with minimal noise from neighbors. The backyard is huge and entitled closed off, so our dogs were able to play freely! The pups loved it!
We stayed during the Christmas weekend and it would get a little cold at night, but the heating in the home worked great!
Location was good, close to the entrance of Joshua Tree National Park. Quiet at night and you could stargaze in the big backyard which had hammocks. Did not use the hot tub which was heated for our arrival.
Bright and clean house with ample room. Lots of thoughtful touches throughout like local Joshua Tree coffee, diptyque candles, incense, curated reading materials and cookbooks. Well stocked kitchen, which had everything we needed.
Friendly communications and clear instructions to the house
We loved everything about the place! The property is centrally located to everything, dining, shopping and many other things as well as the west entrance to Joshua Tree National Park. It had everything we needed and it was so clean and spacious! The decor was beautiful and the beds and furniture were very comfortable, everything is of great quality. The property was secure so we felt safe at all times. Highly recommend this property!
Such a lovely apartment, with all what you might need, from kitchen tools, to the sauna and hot tub, to the comfy outdoor sunchairs and bbq . The house is extremely well equipped and furnished with great taste and sense of practicity together. It gives a sense of calm and allows for full relax. Location is also great as few min drive from the entrance of joshua tree, and in a quiet neighbourhood.
Incredible stay! Staff were so helpful and theres someone on hand 24/7. Nice little inside sorry space and area with hot/cold drinks and food to buy to cook in your airstream aswell as alcohol. Walkable into Joshua Tree town. Swimming pool and evening fire pit was great, people were very friendly and had your own outside space and bbq. Only stayed on night, would have loved to stay longer!!
Loved the hot tub, sauna, all the guide books, and great location between the main Yucca area and Joshua Tree National Park. The decor was so cute! The photos almost didn't do the place justice because it was so much more quaint and cozy than we thought! We will definitely be coming back again soon!
Very clean, modern, and private. We had a really great stay in Joshua Tree and coming to this Desert Escape made the trip perfect! Communications with the host was easy with fast responses to any questions. Number one place to stay in Joshua Tree!
Everything was great, our yurt was clean and comfy. We weren’t cold at all during the night. Overall it’s a beautiful and unique location in Joshua Tree. Just make sure you read their instructions and website descriptions and come prepared.
The property was very clean and instructions for entry were very clear and easy to understand. There are many little extras that made our stay relaxing and comfortable. The location allows easy access to Joshua Tree National Park.
Great location with no immediate neighbors, only 10 minutes from the town of Joshua Tree and about 20 minutes from the national park. Great amenities, very clean and comfortable. The host was friendly and easy to communicate with.
Great location for Joshua Tree National Park and visitors' centre. Very helpful owner who provided guide to J T, map of local restaurants and weighed our luggage for us prior to our flight. He also upgraded us to a king bed.
The house is super close to one of the entrances to Joshua Tree and we just loved the (small) spa outside. It’s just a delightful thing to sit there in the evening and hear nothing.
Very quiet location and fully equipped.
I enjoyed the modern design of the interior, the art books, and artwork throughout the house. It was a classic artsy joshua tree home.
The hot tub under the stairs made the trip very special.
The bungalow is a beautifully refurbished 1961 Frank Lloyd Wright style property set in a development of similar bungalows in Joshua Tree. It’s a stunning property in a fantastic location.
